Chatham Maritime - The Quays

This mixed-use development at Chatham Maritime comprising 303 residential units and retail space, reflects the waterside setting with two distinctive residential towers positioned like lighthouses on the northernmost tips of the historic quays. These act as beacons marking the entry to the site from the water, and are oriented east and west to maximise high level views to the River Medway and its estuary. To the south, two lower-rise industrial style buildings extend along the quays – one containing further residential accommodation, the other a range of commercial and leisure uses. The promenade area to one side of this commercial building provides a new pedestrian space, protected from the weather by an overhanging roof canopy.
