Yasmin Al-Ani Spence, Director

Yasmin joined WilkinsonEyre in 2014, following roles at Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, KPF, Grimshaw, and Spence Associates. Her architectural strength lies in a strong sense of design, combined with practical construction knowledge of materials and details. Having worked in both small and large practices and on projects of differing types and budgets over time, Yasmin has gathered a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the building process. Within the practice, Yasmin leads on modern methods of working and creating productive, effective workspaces.

Yasmin has led WilkinsonEyre’s delivery of a new £19 million centre for Science, Technology, Arts and Mathematics at Gresham’s School, which will enable new approaches to teaching and collaboration. Yasmin is a keen advocate for the growth and development of STEM education, both academically and within the architectural sector. Over the last 15 years, she has worked closely with young people to inspire careers in architecture and engineering, ultimately helping to bridge the increasing skills gap in the UK.

She has worked closely with Dyson, designing their R&D campuses in Malmesbury and Hullavington as part of the two overarching masterplans, as well as the Dyson Demo shops in London, New York, and San Francisco. In the corporate sector, Yasmin is leading a team for the retrofitting of the Citi Bank Building in Canary wharf, which will deliver world-class workspace. The project explores new methods in workplace design and when complete will create an exemplary benchmark in healthy, sustainable and balanced ways of working.
