Sam Wright, Director

Sam joined the practice in August 2001 and became a director in 2018. Leading the Sports and Leisure Team, he has delivered award-winning projects including the Liverpool Arena (2008); Basketball Arenas at both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics and most recently, the high profile redevelopment of the Compton and Edrich stands at Lord’s Cricket Ground for the MCC. His work has been instrumental in expanding WilkinsonEyre’s work in the sporting sector both in scale and design ambition. 

Sam also has a strong commercial track record, including the delivery of 8 Finsbury Circus and 

Gresham St Pauls, two office schemes on high value sites in the City of London that combine refurbishment and new build elements. For the University of Oxford he completed the Earth Science Building in 2010, while projects overseas include a million square foot office park development in Cairo, WilkinsonEyre's first project to be completed in North Africa. 

Alongside his architectural duties Sam is responsible for the practice's Design and Quality Management System, and reviews procurement arrangements across the practice.
