Venice Biennale Reflections Installation
‘Reflections’ is a special installation created for the Italian Pavilion at the 2004 Venice Biennale at the invitation of Director Dr Kurt Forster. The piece explores the evolution of architectural ideas within the practice and complements the exhibition’s overall theme of ‘Metamorph’. The installation was designed in conjunction with artist William Pye and designer Francesco Draisci. A mysterious dark pool of shallow water reflects a specially-commissioned film showing the philosophy, themes and preoccupations of our design approach, and the jewel-like models of 4 projects: an Alpine House for Kew Gardens, the Liverpool King’s Waterfront development, the National Waterfront Museum at Swansea and the proposed tensegrity bridge for Washington DC’s National Building Museum.
