Euston Station
In late 2007, Wilkinson Eyre was invited to undertake a major design feasibility exercise for the redevelopment of Euston Station, London’s biggest terminus. The study covered a vast scope including new retail, commercial and residential provision as well as a rail terminus for the 21st century. Our designs explored strategies for reconnecting the station with the city, not only across the busy Euston Road but also increasing porosity into the surrounding neighbourhoods. The station design was organised with dual level operation, grade separating train departures and arrivals. The proposals also looked at how the area immediately adjacent to the station - and above its tracks - could be redeveloped to provide a sustainable, mixed-use community in this desirable central location.
