These premises in the centre of Paris, close to the Champs Elysée, provide headquarters for Dyson’s operations in France. The scheme comprises new administration offices coupled with a double height retail space for the demonstration and sale of Dyson products. The development covers the basement, ground and first floors of an existing 20th century building. The design maximises views into the retail area from the street facade, while the office spaces occupy the rear or the plan, grouped around an existing lightwell and opening into an enclosed garden behind the building. The design intent was to express the ‘design led’ products of the client in the architectural treatment of the retail areas through the use on new materials and technology.  The contemporary design is purposely more akin to that of a gallery than the typical ‘high street’ retail outlet for household appliances.
