Brighton Marina
Brighton Marina occupies a strategic position at the eastern edge of the city. The design of this mixed-use scheme for the Marina’s Outer Harbour is part of a wider masterplan for the development of the site and offers the opportunity to create a landmark to mark this gateway to Brighton – both from the land and sea. The proposals are for a dramatic cluster of residential buildings comprising around 850 units. The focal point will be a 40-storey tower providing the public with panoramic views of the bay and seafront from its top-floor viewing gallery. While the development draws its principal inspiration from the natural context – chalk cliffs, sea and sky - it can also be seen as a contemporary expression of the famous ‘white’ architecture of the Brighton seafront, forming a new composition entirely appropriate to its setting.
