Stafford Critchlow joined Wilkinson Eyre in 1992. He feels there is a clear continuity between his early projects and his current work in the education and cultural sectors. 'One of the things we're interested in is how you can integrate modern buildings into historic or sensitive environments. Often this is the result of extensive consultation with a huge number of interested parties. But it's not just about consultation – it's about delivering the design so that the concept is realised in a way that everyone's proud of. What I like about our projects is that when you revisit them the sense of appreciation is really tangible – it's a humanistic thing.'
