Sam joined Wilkinson Eyre in 2001, bringing with him experience of a diverse range of projects – and design approaches. He enjoys working on large-scale projects which create a dynamic intervention in the urban landscape. ‘I like being involved in projects which are dominant in the public realm, ones which have a strong civic presence. They create a kind of human theatre.’ He believes the practice’s strength is in maintaining the integrity of such schemes. ‘These projects have to not only work in terms of their broader, macro concept, but also on a micro level. Whatever the scale, people do notice the details.’
