Wilkinson Eyre’s extensive portfolio of public projects initially brought Bosco Lam to the practice. ‘I think it’s critical that architects make a positive contribution to the public environment, finding solutions that respond to the user brief at the same time as being sympathetic to the external context. Too many buildings are ‘selfish’ in terms of their public face.’ This interest in the social aspect of architecture is carried through into Bosco’s role in the design team. ‘I like helping clients to see opportunities or potential they might not otherwise have seen. It’s not just about making buildings look good and function well; it’s about creating an infrastructure for cultural change.’
