• Michael Palin opens Kew Alpine House

Wilkinson Eyre’s new glasshouse at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew – the Davies Alpine House – will be formally opened today (10 March 2006) by TV presenter Michael Palin. The building is the first glasshouse to be constructed at Kew for over 20 years, and continues a remarkable tradition of innovative, high quality structures at the gardens.

The elegant glass structure combines sustainability, technology and accessibility to create the best possible environment for alpine plant growth by passive means – and it will dramatically increase the profile and visitor experience of Kew’s world famous alpine collection.
