Mary Rose Museum named Building Magazine's Project of the Year

The Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth has been named Project of the Year at the Building Awards 2014. Dedicated to rewarding excellence and outstanding performance in the UK construction industry, the Building Awards brings together some of the most influential figures in the business to celebrate exceptional UK projects. The award scheme's prestigious panel of judges selected the Mary Rose Museum from a highly competitive shortlist.

Opened in May 2013, the museum reveals the secrets of the famous Tudor ship, marking 30 years since the hull of the Mary Rose was raised from the Solent, where she lay undiscovered for 437 years. WilkinsonEyre worked with Pringle Brandon Perkins+Will (architects for the interior) and Bouygues UK (contractors) to deliver this project, combining delicate conservation, contemporary architecture and specialist technical expertise.
