Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce to become lead tenant of Bay Park Centre, Toronto

It has been announced that Candada’s fifth-largest bank, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) will become the lead tenant of WilkinsonEyre’s Bay Park Centre, Toronto. This will form CIBC’s new headquarters, bringing together approximately 15,000 employees from many of the bank’s offices across Toronto.

The proposed towers at 81 and 141 Bay Street will form a significant addition to the Toronto skyline with a striking faceted façade design that will respond to changes in light throughout the day.

Designed to integrate closely with the wider city, the scheme provides a new elevated park, a new city bus terminal for Metrolinx, and connections into Union Station, subway and lightrail (LRT) systems.

The 270,000 m² downtown urban campus will be developed and jointly managed by Ivanhoé Cambridge and U.S. developer Hines Interests LP. Construction will begin this spring, with the first tower due to complete in 2020, and the second in 2023.
